One of the ways God calls us to serve our spouses is to pray for them. I have learned throughout my life that prayer is not only a way we can communicate our needs to God. Prayer is also a weapon that can be used to fight against the enemy’s schemes.
Prayer is a relationship wherein we humbly communicate, worship, and sincerely seek God’s face, knowing that He hears us, loves us, and will respond, though not always in a manner we may expect or desire. More importantly, prayer can encompass confession, praise, adoration, supplication, intercession, and more.
Prayer is the key to unlocking mysteries from God. When we pray for each other, we keep each other spirits up. “In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters [Spouses]. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out. Eph 6:18 MSG
We are in ongoing warfare regularly and daily, and the enemy, the devil, does not want to see families strive. Have you ever wondered why there is so much division in the family? The enemy understands that the only way he can attempt to fight against God’s order to [populate the earth with God’s children] Genesis 1:26 is to fight to destroy the family. He fought so hard at the beginning when he deceived Eve to eat the apple, and God had to chase man out of the garden of Eden.
Since then, the devil, the enemy, prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour 1 Peter 5:8, and the only way we can overcome the enemy’s schemes is to come to God in prayer. Below are ten prayers to pray over your spouse.
Pray for your spouse’s relationship with God.
Pray that your spouse will learn to love and know God more closely, and the relationship [your spouse] has with God will grow. Additionally, Pray that [your spouse] will be rooted and grounded in love through faith, so they will understand the width and length and depth and height to know the love of God, which passes all understanding so that they can be filled with all the fullness of God. Luke 10:27; 2 Peter 3:18; Ephesians 3:14-19; Colossians 3:16
Pray that God will give your spouse wisdom.
James 1:5 tells us that If anyone lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. Ask God to give your spouse wisdom to carry out the day-to-day activities and make BIG decisions. Pray that God will impart wisdom to your spouse, so they may know what God’s good and perfect will are. Proverbs 3:7-8, Proverbs 13:10, 19:20
Pray for God’s grace.
Moreover, pray for God’s grace in your spouse’s life. The scripture states that God gives the grace to help us resist pride and stay humble. James 4:6. Pray that the grace of our Lord Jesus will abide with your spouse and remind them that whatever situation they may find themselves in, God’s grace is always enough (sufficient) for them, just as God told Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:9
Pray that God will give your spouse Rest and satisfaction.
Also, pray that God will give your spouse rest and satisfaction while protecting them from harm.(Daniel 3:8-30, Prov 19:23) Pray that God will always remind them that The fear of the Lord leads to life, And he who has it will abide in satisfaction; he will not be visited with evil.

Most importantly, pray that God will give your spouse a heart willing to honor others above himself. A spirit of humility. Colossians 3:12, Ephesians 4:2. James 4:10 tells us that God will lift us if we humble ourselves. So pray for a humble heart for your spouse.
Pray for your spouse, Self-control.
The scripture tells us that A man who does not have self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls. Proverbs 25:28. Therefore, pray that God will give your spouse self-control, knowing that God has not given us a spirit, not of fear but power and love and self-control. 1 Tim 1:7KJV.
Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 9:24-27, “..in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize, so run that you may obtain it. Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I should be disqualified”. Titus 2:11-14

Pray that God will help you and your spouse work together to achieve the purpose God called you and your spouse.
Pray that God will show you both the way of life, granting you the joy of [God’s] presence and the pleasures of living with [God] forever. In its place, God will teach your spouse to be completely humble and gentle, being patient, and bearing with others in love. (Eph.4:2)

Finally, pray that God will help your spouse not be anxious about anything. But in everything, let them make their requests known to God through prayer and petition.
